‘Sup! Here’s the 411, your main man is a totally rad dude who does not sound cool using outdated 80’s slang. I’m Rob, a Canadian traditional and digital artist. I’m just building my art business one sticker at a time. I’m self-taught, I usually go scouring art books and online tutorials when I need to figure out new techniques. My artwork always needs to be a little bit better. I’ve always had a love of drawing, but I gave up on it too early on. I eventually came back to creating artwork and am all the happier for it.
I enjoy challenging myself by making miniature drawings, which led me to making sketch cards. The only logical progression from there was tackling digital art and gradually figuring out my way around digital drawing programs. Having stumbled my way into designing my own stickers and other eye-catching items has also been very fulfilling, I am astounded everyday to see something I’ve drawn professionally printed on stickers or keychains.
A couple years after the launch of this website, I finally became a professional sketch card artist by getting hired by Upper Deck to create sketch cards for one of their trading card sets. Since then, I’ve also gotten to work for Topps and Unstoppable Cards. I’ve worked on such properties as Marvel Comics, Star Wars, and Highlander. Becoming a professional sketch card artist has been a dream come true.
I collect comics and manga, watch cartoons and anime, and have a good-sized action figure collection. Particularly anything Harley Quinn, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, and Bakuman related. I’ll talk your ear off about some obscure detail of comic book history or aspect of animation production.
I am currently working on expanding the variety of items in my shop and continuous stack of sketch cards for various companies. As well as writing and illustrating my first webcomic which is called Choking Hazard, the series will be about the goings-on of the toys within a toy store. It’s been in-progress for quite a while, so bear with me! 😉
